When we left Chris and Kathryn’s engagement session there was only one word that left our lips…. “Wow!!!”
We met Chris about a year ago at Joseph and Katelyn’s summer wedding at Applewood Farms and Chris knew how to dance to celebrate his friend’s union. Now, a little over a year later, Chris is marrying his soulmate and we are beyond thrilled to be a part of their beautiful marriage. They met at their Bible Study’s BARON’S NIGHT at Regions Field. Kathryn described their meeting, “At the Baron’s game we locked eyes… had never met but instantly knew we needed to know each other. We ended up talking and stayed the whole time! I had made a deal with a friend we would leave at the 7th inning but I convinced her to stay once the conversation with Chris kicked off.” After their first date, Kathryn told her mom that she was going to marry this Chris Smith, and she was right.
When we met this adorable couple for coffee, Kathryn told us how Chris proposed.
“Chris brings me to the spot we met in Regions field every time we are at a game… we call it ‘our spot’ so my radar wasn’t up when he brought me to a game and brought me down to that area. He told me he loved me, which he told me he would only say until he proposed to his wife, and popped the question! I was a crying mess and he was solid as a rock… which will probably be opposite on our wedding day. Our family (mine came down as a surprise from Minnesota) and friends came out and then we celebrated at Good People. It was THE BEST!! I have some pretty ridiculous ugly happy cry face shots from the moment I saw my parents!”
With all that being said, naturally we wanted to start their engagement session at the place that held such a great memory for them.
This couple is FULL OF JOY and we kept telling them that we would take their picture every week if they would let us! We cannot wait to celebrate their September wedding at Samford’s Reid Chapel and end the night at The Barn at Shady Lane!
